Russell is a world class comic performer. A legend of Melbourne’s Theatresports community, Russell has represented Australia at the Winter Olympics and several tournaments in the U.S. and Canada, culminating in winning the World Improvisation Champion in Montreal.
Russell has received Melbourne Fringe awards for his solo shows, A Tribute to Danny Kaye and King of Fools, and has directed many Melbourne International Comedy Festival shows.
He hosts the hilarious improvised musical Spontaneous Broadway and is well known as a comic actor in hit theatre shows: The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, The 39 Steps, Yes Prime Minister, and Shakespeare Under The Stars.
Russell graduated with a B. Ed. in Drama and English at Rusden (now Deakin University), and has performed and taught improvisation in festivals, schools, universities and corporate training programs for over 30 years.
He currently works as a facilitator, MC, consultant and teacher, and regularly facilitates team building and leadership programs for school staff, secondary and tertiary students.
